I could try and recap the last week for you, but I don’t see that being particularly entertaining, so let’s just pretend I posted yesterday, shall we?
Despite what is probably the most tumultuous time in my life, I’m sticking to the plan. Down a total of 8 lbs in just about 2 weeks – and I’m not complaining! The one thing you can control in a time where everything else is right outta my control.
Yesterday, incase you didn’t know, is a newly created national holiday. That’s right – it’s National Blender Day. Who created the holiday, you ask? Well, I did. I have been waiting for Blender Day to arrive for a month or so now, and I have to say, it did not disappoint.
I have complained about my cheap-o blender more than once, and the less than fantastic spinach chunks it leaves in my otherwise delicious smoothies. I’ve blogged about it, I’ve tweeted about it, and I’ve considered fancy-schmancy blenders that I could only dream of owning.
Until Blender Day.
Apparently someone was actually listening when I complained, and watching when I used one of my 10,000 kitchen gadgets to puree soup, or make raw donut holes.
Here’s what the mail man brought me yesterday…….
And this isn’t one of those situations that happened when you were a kid, and the box was for a Super Nintendo (yes, I’m old), but inside was a pair of wool socks and a calligraphy set. IT'S A REAL LIVE BLENDTEC TOTAL BLENDER!
When Matt at Blendtec offered to give me one, I just about squealed. When it actually arrived, I actually did squeal!
Yesterday was spent looking through the fridge and freezer for things to blend, and here’s what I know so far:
- Banana Soft Serve is so EASY in a Blendtec
- Frozen pineapple makes a delicious sorbet with no added liquid
- I have too many canned goods I’ll never use
- you can blend an iPad in an Blendtec blender
Okay, the last one I didn’t do myself, but I did watch it on YouTube.
I see many, many…MANY days of happy blending in my future! If I weren’t already married, I’d be seriously considering marrying Matt from Blendtec, this machine is THAT good!
I’m fully immersed in the cool cookbook it came with, and am finding all kinds of exciting new recipes to try that I couldn’t make before.
What’s one piece of kitchen equipment you own that you couldn’t live without? What would you LOVE to own, but don’t have yet?
Your blender has to be better than the Cuisinart i got for Christmas. When i blend something with a banana in it i still have chunks of banana in it when it's finished :(
ReplyDeleteMy favorite piece of kitchen equipment?? I'd have to say my food processor because it saves so much time slicing onion/carrots etc!
I think i'd love to own a Blendtec, by the sounds of it!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with my waffle maker though, I don't know what I did without it 4/7 days of the week- just the most easy and delicious concoctions come out of that thing each and every time! YUM!
Take care of yourself and way to go on the loss, girlie!!
I couldn't live without my immersion blender thingy with different attachments! I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to own a rice cooker and a breadmaker!
Awesome job on sticking to the plan! :)
How the HELL did you score that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am soooooooo jealous!! Matt if you are listening, I will sell my soul for one!! haha..
ReplyDeletewell maybe not my soul... but I sure would be happy!!
Lucky girl, great job on the 8lbs, you rock hunny!!!!!!!!!!!!
xo
Jess
I have the Blend Tec and we use it everyday. We got the cool cookbook with it as well. I make all my wee ones babyfood with it.. I can't believe you got it for free.. Yah Hoo
ReplyDeleteWait till you make hot soup in it.. sooo cool. It actually heats the soup in the blender... Yummm
My favorite piece of kitchen equipment is my food processor! I love that thing. And I also have a mini one for small jobs. It's really convenient!
ReplyDeleteAnd what I'd love to own is a blender that has all the required parts and works like a charm. Someone bought me one and it was missing like 3 parts. :( Maybe that'll be my next kitchen purchase!
I am so jealous! I am in smoothie envy!
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a new blender or food processor...
8lbs is great!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I couldnt live without my microwave. Or was the case, not so much lately, which is a good thing :)
I have total blender envy.
ReplyDeleteComplete, utter, supreme blender envy.
Right now my favorite kitchen item is my Magic Bullet because it's the only thing that even comes close to blending up my smoothies. It still leaves some chunks (of course), but oh well!
I thought my ONE thing was going to be a food processor so I could make my own hummus. Used it 2x and haven't touched it since, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome! I was trying to make smoothies in my little Magic Bullet. It didn't work so well. The fruit had to be thawed. So I got myself a much better $80 kitchenaid blender. Much better! But I'm sure a BlendTec would be even better but I couldn't afford that. I've made as smoothie almost every day since I got it. Wonderful! I also couldn't live without my KitchenAid stand mixer although I don't make many healthy foods with it. I love to bake all sorts of not so healthy things.
ReplyDeleteps... are you loving your blendec ????? I am trying to figure out which one to purchase!! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome - thanks for including me! You're the best. Hope you are doing well.
